Biography:
Professor Zhixin Wang primarily conducts research in renewable energy control technologies such as wind power and photovoltaic power generation, flexible HVDC transmission technology, distributed generation integration in smart grids and DC grid systems, motor control and energy-saving technologies for electrical systems, energy storage systems, energy configuration for big data centers, and integrated energy systems. He has received numerous honors, including: China Machinery Industry Young Technology Expert (1995), Trans-Century Talent of the Ministry of Machinery Industry of China (1995), Shanghai New Long March Pace-setter (1999), Certified Expert of the Expert Database of China Electric Power Education Association (2022), Highly Cited Chinese Researcher Top 1% by CNKI (2024, 2025), VEBLEO FELLOW (January 2026), and Outstanding Achievement Award (SWR Awards, 2026), among others.
He serves as a member of the National Technical Committee on Plateau Electrical Products Environment of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 330), Vice President of Shanghai Energy-Saving Engineering Technology Association, Vice President of the Zhejiang University Shanghai Alumni Association, Vice President of Shanghai Hydropower Engineering Society, Off-campus Master's Supervisor for Professional Degree Postgraduates at Shanghai University of Electric Power, and a review expert for various organizations including the Ministry of Science and Technology, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), China Association for Science and Technology, State Grid Corporation of China, Ministry of Education (dissertation review), Academic Bridge, China Electric Power Education Association, China International Industry Fair, Shanghai Municipal Government Procurement, as well as for the science and technology departments of Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Fujian, Hunan, Shandong Provinces and Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. He is an editorial board member of the EI-indexed core Chinese journals Power System Protection and Control and Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica, and a reviewer for journals including Proceedings of the CSEE, Power System Technology, Power System Protection and Control, Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica, and Electric Power Automation Equipment. He has led multiple key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). His awards include two First Prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of China Petroleum and Chemical Automation Association, one Second Prize of Shanghai Technological Invention Award, one China Invention and Entrepreneurship Award, and one Special Prize for Teaching and Educating Young Teachers of the Ministry of Machinery Industry. He has published over 200 SCI/EI papers, authored or co-authored 12 books and textbooks, been granted more than 70 invention patents, and contributed to the development of 4 national standards, 1 industry standard of the National Energy Administration, and 3 group standards.
